APC Support Limited

The AssocRICS route is designed for surveyors who may not yet meet the academic or experience requirements for direct entry to MRICS, but who can demonstrate professional competence through a structured written submission.

Unlike the APC, AssocRICS candidates are assessed entirely on their written submission, which typically includes:

  • Summary of Experience – 8 Mandatory Competencies (1,000 words)
  • Summary of Experience – 6 Technical Competencies to level 2 (2,000 words)
  • Case Study (2,000 words)
  • 48 hours CPD per 12 months period

While the process may appear more straightforward than the APC, many candidates underestimate the level of clarity, structure and professional judgement expected within the submission documents.

At APC Support Limited, we provide structured, practical support to help candidates present their experience clearly and meet the standards expected by RICS assessors..

We typically support AssocRICS candidates through:

  • Summary of Experience Builder
A structured tool designed to guide you step-by-step in drafting your submission and demonstrating the correct competency levels.
  • One-to-one mentoring sessions
Focused sessions to refine your content, strengthen your examples and ensure your submission reflects the required standard.
  • Case Study development
Guidance on selecting an appropriate topic and structuring your case study to demonstrate professional competence.

Most AssocRICS candidates are able to complete their submission with 2–3 hours of mentoring, with additional sessions recommended for case study development where required.

Our role is to guide and structure your preparation so that your submission clearly reflects your experience and meets RICS expectations.

We do not write submission documents on your behalf. All content must remain a true and accurate reflection of your own professional experience.

Please note that this service does not include APC counsellor sign-off. If you require a formally appointed counsellor, you can learn more about our APC counsellor services and eligibility criteria.

To support both your submission and your broader professional development, we recommend enrolling on one of our APC revision courses within your chosen pathway.

These courses:

  • Strengthen your technical knowledge across competencies
  • Help you demonstrate best practice within your submission
  • Contribute significantly towards your CPD requirements
